There’s a reason that we love being members of the Farmers Branch community. It’s close enough to Dallas for you to get that big city fix if you need it, but far enough away to be considered a small community.
And, unlike in the big city, this is a community that really cares about one another. True, like any small Texas town, it’s hard to keep a secret, but there’s no better place if you want neighbors that care.
We’ve got a proud history here and a lot to be proud of. Founded back in the 1840s, Farmers Branch had the distinction of being known as one of the best-known towns in all of Dallas County. The founders back then were pretty good at advertising, and this put the town on the map.
By the 1900s, Farmers Branch was well-established and looked on as something of a boom town. If you think it’s small now, you should have seen it back then with about 300 inhabitants.
The fact that the town has grown from strength to strength and now boasts over 30,000 is a testament that it’s a great place to live.
One thing that sets this town apart is all the parks and open spaces we have here. If you don’t like the idea of being hemmed in a cement jungle, Farmers Branch is a great place to call home.
After all – we’ve got a great climate, and it would be a shame to waste all that Texan sunshine. Oran Park is great if you want to play some ball, and even has a creek running through it.
We’re also a town where family values are important, and as a result, there’s a lot for families to do and enjoy. Head out to the historical park and get a taste of what life on the frontier was like or take some time out to smell the roses at the local gardens.
If you fancy a cold brew, head over to 3 Nations Brewery for some of the best craft beers in the States. The Cultured Cup is also a great spot if you’re something of a culture vulture. You get to try some of the best teas and coffees on offer in the area.
If you’re looking to escape the stresses of modern living, then Escape This is a must. It’ll quickly become clear why this is rated as the top Escape Room experience in the DFW area. Get a team together from work or go with your family. Either way, it’s a lot of fun.
If you’re looking to escape the heat of the day, head over to Dr. Pepper’s StarCenters. Go skating, catch a show, or get your inner Wayne Gretzky on, and of course, it wouldn’t be Texas without being able to pop off a few at the gun range. The Eagle Gun Range is just one of the options if you want to hone your shooting skills. Come in and pop off a few rounds for some instant stress relief.
If you like the big city lights, Dallas is just a short drive away. Be sure to look out for old JR Ewing and his cronies or just enjoy some fun retail therapy. Then come on home and get a break from the hectic pace of the big city.
Like most towns in Texas, food is a big deal here. We make amazing tacos and some of the finest Mexican food this side of the Rio Grande. Just remember to keep your taste buds primed – we like it hot here in Farmer’s Branch.
If you prefer food that’s not quite as spicy, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered as well. We’re friendly folk here, and downright hospitable to boot – we cater to everyone.
